Bali Volcano Panorama

This image consists of 11 hand-held vertical images adjusted in Photoshop Lightroom CS5 then stitched together in Photoshop CS5. Angle of view is just ove 180 degrees. Just a small amount of cloning was done along the edges and corners. I didn't do a perfect job in my cloning but good enough to pass my time constraint limits.

I am standing at the top of Mt Gunung Agung [link] a volcano in Bali. It translates to the "Great Mountain". Ganung Agung towers above the Bali Sea at 9,944 ft. Our trek started at 2:30AM with headlamps, our beginning elevation was around 4200 ft. The trail was given no switchbacks, just like an arrow it went straight up the volcano. Apparently Indonesians don't believe in switchback trekking. )

About 4 feet behind me is a 700 foot drop to the crater floor, also note the volcano shadow descending directly on the right. This was one of the most grueling day hikes I've done! It took about 4 hours to reach the summit and 3 more to reach the trail head parking.
