Artist's Comments

Looking east down Lone Pine Creek, Sequoia National Park. This was taken after returning from attempting to summit Mt Whitney, elevation 14,496 feet. We were unsuccessful after turning back at 13000 feet due to heavy sleet and an electrical storm. My hiking poles were actually shocking my hands because there was so much static electricity in the air. I could actually hear the "Bzzzt" and see an electrical arc ignite between my hands and the aluminum poles. This was scary and exciting at the same time.

No disappointment from me, the scenery was breath taking and we made it home safe to try another day. 1/1000 s at f/2.8 ISO 100 PhotoShop Hue/Saturation, and NIK graduated blue filter.
